The report by a unit of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that out of 2,310 urine samples, taken from a group of Americans intended to be representative of the US population, 1,885 were laced with detectable traces of glyphosate. This is the active ingredient in herbicides sold around the world, including the widely used Roundup brand. Almost a third of the participants were children ranging from six to 18.

“More than 200 million pounds of glyphosate are used annually by US farmers on their fields”, and somehow the idea that it will make its way into humans seems a surprise.

for the grandkids here’s whats happening:

in 2018 a proprietary chemical used to kill weeds, lost a harm lawsuit filed by groundskeeper Dewayne Lee Johnson. That jury awarded $39 million in compensation, and $250 million in damages. Johnson began spraying roundup in 2012, and regularly sprayed for several hours a day. After years of exposure he developed non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The maker of the chemical has filed appeals through 2020

In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer categorized glyphosphate as “probable human carcinogen”

Yet this is playing out as if no one has data, or is able to conduct research to find out. Surely by now you know it was, and all the other problems that it caused. But just letting you know that now, the inertia of the system preventing change.
